This project focused on using grasshopper to generate the form, particularly using kangaroo in simulating tensile strength and elasticity. This was a group project which highlighted the importance of communication within design and production, splitting the work and process into several stages for design, manufacture of pieces and final assembly. This work was a particular challenge, as we wanted to create an interesting form for under £120, therefore we used tracing paper as it was a material which was light, cheap, and stiff enough to form more complex shapes. The opaque quality aided the simulation of light from the north window behind the installation.
